This unfortunate trend is not limited to the coaching profession. This approach has poisoned many professions typically practiced as private practices, from psychotherapy to personal fitness training. In addition to not helping clients much, the idea that "everybody needs" the continuous support of an entourage of professionals makes for really bad private practice business models.

How does a provider find the time or money to attend learning conferences, take rejeuvenating vacations, build a network to share with clients, or simply reflect and devise improved services if the business model entails jampacked days of back-to-back client appointments?
